Planning estimates

CBC Calc offers general planning tools and educational information. Results depend on the dimensions, quantities, product assumptions and prices supplied. They are estimates, not a purchase guarantee, bid, structural design, product certification, permit or code approval.

Verify project requirements

Confirm dimensions, openings, waste allowances, product coverage, supplier packaging and current local prices before ordering. Construction requirements vary by adopted code, site conditions, loads, weather, soil, manufacturer and jurisdiction. A qualified local professional must determine structural adequacy, reinforcement, footing, drainage and permit requirements. Do not use a calculator result to establish a safe load or authorize construction.

Guides and references

References to a standard identify material for further checking; they do not mean CBC Calc or a project has been certified by that standards organization. Articles can contain errors or become outdated. Consult current primary sources, manufacturer instructions and your local authority for the specific project.

Using and sharing results

You may use calculator results for personal or commercial planning. If you include them in a proposal, identify the assumptions and verify quantities independently. Do not misrepresent results as a professional engineering approval or a supplier's guaranteed quotation.

Corrections and availability

The website and its estimates are provided without a promise of uninterrupted availability or error-free results. These statements do not exclude rights or obligations that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
